The Be Good Project

Board recruitment · The Be Good Project

Help build the future
of community good.

Bring your judgment, relationships, and commitment to a small nonprofit with a lasting mission.

Since 2012, BGP has brought people together around food access, learning, volunteerism, and practical technology. We are seeking people who want to help turn that persistence into a stronger, more sustainable organization.

What we are looking for

Experience that strengthens the whole organization.

01

Fundraising & relationships

Help shape a realistic funding strategy, introduce potential supporters, cultivate relationships, and support grant and donor outreach.

02

Finance & governance

Bring sound judgment to budgets, organizational priorities, financial oversight, policies, risk, and responsible use of resources.

03

Community & strategy

Contribute lived experience, community relationships, communications, technology leadership, or nonprofit operating experience.

You do not need every skill listed. We welcome complementary perspectives, practical follow-through, and a willingness to learn.

How you can help

Be an active steward
of the mission.

Board service should connect thoughtful oversight with meaningful contribution.

  1. Prepare and participate. Read materials, ask useful questions, and follow through on agreed responsibilities.
  2. Help build sustainable support. Make introductions, participate in fundraising, and advocate for BGP within your networks.
  3. Protect community trust. Respect confidentiality, disclose conflicts, and consider dignity, access, and privacy in decisions.
  4. Keep priorities realistic. Help connect available resources to achievable goals and measurable progress.

A clear next step

Start with a conversation.

1. Introduce yourself

Email your connection to BGP’s mission, relevant experience, and the ways you would like to help. A short bio or resume is welcome.

2. Explore the fit

Discuss current needs, your availability, and how your strengths complement the board.

3. Confirm the commitment

Review meeting cadence, term length, time expectations, fundraising responsibilities, and the selection process before accepting.

This is an invitation to express interest, not an appointment or a published set of finalized service terms. Any personal giving expectation should be discussed individually; no fixed minimum is stated here.
